Zoho Mail Setup – First Login & Outlook Configurations

This article aims to provide a procedure for all AIIT Solution’s clients newly subscribed to Zoho mail.

Step1:

Open URL: mail.zoho.com

Click on the Login and enter credentials shared with you. It will prompt you to Change Password, Enter the current password, and you’re own selected password, which must be alphanumeric with a symbol, and it must have a minimum length of 8 characters.

Once it is all set, you will be signed out automatically, and you will be required to Sign In again to access your email via the online Zoho email portal.

Step2:

Once your reset your password and have access to your emails, you will be all set to configure the account on Outlook.

Open the Outlook application at your desktop, click on the “File” menu, and click on Add Account.

Note: Don’t remove your older account before the configuration is complete.

Step3:

If you have a 2016 or advance outlook, your window may appear differently than in the below-mentioned screenshots, but options selection will remain the same. Select “Advance setting” and “Manually Setup” your account using POP and IMAP Account Settings. In the advanced version of Outlook, you need to select IMAP Settings.

 

Step4:

Enter your details and select account type as IMAP, and enter incoming mail server and outgoing mail server, as mentioned in the below screenshot.

 

 

Step5:

Click on more settings and select the Advanced tab and enter the Server Ports numbers. Incoming server (IMAP): 993 and Outgoing Server (SMTP) at 465, as mentioned in the below screenshot.

Click “OK” and click “next” on the previous window to let the configuration completed.

STEP6: Backup/Copy your email

You will see your previous and newly configured account on your Outlook, Right-click on “Inbox” of your previously configured email account, and copy the folder to the newly configured account’s Inbox. This process may take several hours to sync with the cloud. You will be able to see all emails reflecting on the Zoho mail web portal.

Once this step is complete, repeat the same action with “Sent Items“.

STEP7: DELETING YOUR OLD ACCOUNT AND SETTING NEW ACCOUNT AS DEFAULT

Click on the “File” menu and go to “Account Settings”. Depending on your usage, you will see a minimum of two accounts. Select this newly configure account and click on the “Set as Default” option above the accounts list. After that, you select the account which you want to delete and click on the “Remove” option.
