YouTube Rolls Out “Name Handle” To Make Tagging Creator Easier

YouTube has presented a new feature for its creators; even average users can use it to recognize their channels or themself in a unique form. This unique feature lets every user handle a unique name on the platform. Recently, Netflix has also introduced the same feature exclusively for gamers. But this new YouTube feature will work on the whole platform and for every user.

YouTube Officially Giving Handle, Get Yours Now

We all know the “@name handle” system is primarily available on social media platforms such as Instagram and Twitter, which makes it more comfortable to tag a user and gives a particular name ID.

YouTube has grown far in the past years with its numerous features, but the primary was YouTube Shorts which is highly similar to Instagram Reels and TikTok.
If you have attempted to tag someone in the comment section and the Shorts description, it is not straightforward as on the other platform, but it will be because YouTube also launched the same @-handles.

As mentioned above, these new handles will work across platforms, such as YouTube Shorts and channels. Also, if someone takes @name handles, another one will not pick the same.

And that’s why you need to get ready to grab your favorite handle before someone else. YouTube hasn’t mentioned when it will go public, but it sounded like doing this gradually.
You will be notified in your Creator Studio via notification or email. This handle will be displayed on the creator’s YouTube channel’s front page and the channel URL.

And if you didn’t choose your handle before November 14th, YouTube will make your name handle according to your channel name, and you are also allowed to change it later.

You can also visit the official FAQ for more details. However, this feature will also help in YouTube’s further plan of watermarking the Shorts.
