How to Hide and Unhide Sheet Tabs in Google Sheets

When you are working on a workbook with multiple sheets, it can feel tiresome to scroll between them. You can conceal your sheet tabs in Google Sheets to see just those you need. Then, unhide them when the time comes to work on them again.

Hiding sheet tabs in Google Sheets is convenient when navigating from one sheet to another, but those sheets are on the most distant opposite sides of the tab row. You may not like rearranging the order of the tabs so they’re more intimate together and would only see those you need instead.

This article will walk you through how to hide one or more spreadsheets and then unhide them later.

Hide and Unhide Sheet Tabs in Google Sheets

Hide a Single Sheet

To hide a sheet, either right-click the tab or click the arrow in the tab to the right of the sheet’s name. Then, select “Hide Sheet.”

The first time you suppress a sheet tab after lunching your workbook, you’ll see a short confirmation message in the bottom right corner of your Google Sheet.

Unhide Sheets

Whether you hide one or more sheets, you can unhide them the same way. Visit the View tab on your workbook, and you’ll see an option for Hidden Sheets along with the number of sheets concealed. Utilize the pop-out menu to choose the sheets you desire to unhide.

Once you unhide a sheet, you’ll see it emerge in the same tab row before you hide it.

Instead of operating only one sheet, employ an arrow or shortcut to scroll and work on the next sheet, and then go back again, hide the sheet tabs you don’t want in your Google Sheets workbook. This is how you can hide and unhide Sheet Tabs in Google Sheets.
