Google Might Also be Planning Its Location Tracker Like AirTag

According to a new leak, Google might design its location tracker tag like Apple’s AirTag. As per reports, Google has already started working on it. As its progress is going under Google’s Nest unit.

Apple’s AirTag and Samsung’s SmartTag have already captured many users’ attention as smart trackers by which you can track location in your phone. Google is also joining the race by bringing its own smart tracker soon.

Google’s Smart Tracker: All Details

Google's Smart location Tracker

A renowned android developer Mishaal Rahman discovered some references regarding Google’s smart tag in the Google Fast Pair developer console as it was listed with a device type with the name “Locator Tag.”

And to make it more confirmed, another developer, Kuba Wojciechowski, also noted that Google is working on its smart tracker and publicized that its code name is Grogu.

Reports hint at its various names, but they need to be more precise as it is under development. Still, it is codenamed after the Star Wars character, who is tiny and cute, indicating that the upcoming location tracker would look similar.

Besides, Kuba also reports that Google would market this tracker in different color options. Like Apple’s ‌AirTags‌, it will also include an onboard speaker. So that users can quickly locate it or their missing device with the aid of sound.

However, there needs to be more information about its feature. Still, Google’s tracker tag will hopefully offer more features than Apple’s ‌AirTags‌. Because Apple’s AirTag is only for iPhone users, and Google’s Android controls the significant smartphone market.

There needs to be more information regarding when Google will launch this smart tracker. Still, there is a higher probability that the company will reveal it with the launch of the new Pixel Tablet.
