Twitter plans to transform how users switch between algorithmic timelines and chronological feeds, creating the former default for users.
The star button at the top right has been substituted with “For You” and the other “Following” tab.
For You shares the exact name as TikTok’s algorithmically-driven feed, reverberating with the old ‘Home’ feed. Which shows tweets from people users follow out of order, along with tweets that users may want.
The ‘Following’ tab opens up a timeline of the most delinquent tweets. The latest integrational change has caused the transition between the two timelines to be straightforward for users.
The “For you” and “Following” tabs substitute “Home” and “Latest” and will be placing at the top of your timeline so you can effortlessly switch between them. Swipe to change timelines instead of tapping the ✨ icon.

The change meets Twitter CEO Elon Musk’s tweet on December 20, where he stated that the “Main timeline should permit for an easy sideways swipe between top, most delinquent, trending, and topics that you follow.” His business would be making modifications to address it.
The platform has yet to announce Twitter For You feature that allows users to swipe to trending and followed profiles.
This won’t be the first time Twitter follows a TikTok trend, as just this past year, the company presented an endless scroll of videos feed in the Explore tab.
