Yet, Jazz failed to pay the amount within time. So, the Government of Pakistan Large Taxpayer office issued another notice to sealed Jazz’s Islamabad office. The following lines can be found in the notice.
After this notice was issued the authorities raided the Jazz’s head office and sealed it down.
Jazz’s Response to their Islamabad office being sealed.
Jazz condemned the abrupt closure of their office and told the press that they have serious reservations about the alleged tax being imposed on them. Jazz is always on the frontline for any relief activity and we are a Law-abiding business.
This event has tainted the reputation of our company and the matter will be dealt with in a rightful legal way. Jazz is open to discuss this matter with the officials. According to Jazz, the government should consider the reputation of the largest taxpayer of the country before taking these abrupt actions.
How should the Government and Jazz handle this situation?
Jazz is one of the biggest services providers of this country and if the alleged tax amount is correct then proper action should be taken against them. If organizations like these do not pay their taxes then the nation cannot progress.
However, if the amount is unjust or miscalculated, then Jazz should follow proper legal protocols to resolve this matter. Still, this event is shameful for the company and its reputation and they resolve it as soon as possible. So, it does not affect the end-user.
