How to Hide Display Options for Update Notifications in Windows 11

Disable Update Notifications via Registry Editor

To disable update notifications via Registry Editor, you need to click the Windows Start Menu. Search for Registry Editor, and open the results.

Once it opens, navigate to the subsequent path;
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows
Once you get there, right-click on the Windows Folder and select New > Key.

Name the newly created key as “WindowsUpdate.” Once created, right-click on it and create two new keys by selecting New > DWORD (32-bit) Value.

Next, name the newly created keys “UpdateNotificationLevel” & “SetUpdateNotificationLevel”.

Once named, double click on the SetUpdateNotificationLevel key and type 2 on the value data section. Once done, click Ok to save the preferences.

Suppose you need to enable the notifications again; all you need is to double click on the UpdateNotificationLevel. Type 0 on the value data section.

Show or Hide Update Notifications via Local Group Policy Editor

To show or hide Update Notifications, all you need is to click on Windows Start. Search for Local Group Policy, and open the results.

Once it opens, get to the following path;

Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Windows Update > Manage end-user experience. 

Once you get there, double-click on the “Display options for the update notifications” policy on the left side.

Select “Enabled” and then click the drop-down menu and select “Disable all notifications, including restart warnings”. Click “Apply” to apply the changes.

If you need to enable the notifications again, simply select the first option (Default) from the drop-down menu.

That’s all. This will turn off your Windows 11 PC update notifications instantly.
