How to Disable Quick Settings via Registry Editor in Windows 11

Microsoft Windows 11 comes with built-in options that feature Quick Settings, enabled by default. The Quick Settings can be utilized to access diverse settings on the system, including Wi-Fi, Night Light, Battery saver, Bluetooth, Airplane mode, Mobile Hotspot, etc.

The feature is quite helpful as it saves time for you to go into the Settings app, select the appropriate option, and then take action. Instead, you can now modify the settings right from the Quick Settings panel by clicking on the taskbar.

If you are among those users who are not utilizing the Quick Settings or might even seem annoying to you, then the best possible option is to disable the feature. Here’s how to disable the Quick Settings feature. Let’s begin.

Disable Quick Settings on Windows 11

Open the Registry Editor on your Windows 11 device. To do this, click the Windows Search and type “regedit,” and open the results. Or press Windows + R Keys on the keyboard to launch it quickly.

Once the Registry Editor opens, navigate to the following location:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows

Right-click the Windows folder, select New > Key, and name the newly created key as “Explorer.”

disable Quick Settings

Right-click on the “Explorer” folder, select New > DWORD (32-bit) Value, and name the newly created key as “DisableControlCenter.”

disable Quick Settings

Double-click on the “DisableControlCenter” and set its Value data to 1, and then click “Ok.”

disable Quick Settings

Reboot your Windows 11 device to save the changes when you’re done. Once your device restarts, you will see that the Quick Settings options from the taskbar have been removed, and you cannot use them anymore.

If you need to bring the Quick Settings menu back. Modify the value for “DisableControlCenter” from 1 to 0, and you will get the Quick Settings back on your Windows 11 device.
