WhatsApp Could Let You Edit Sent Messages Very Soon

WhatsApp is definitely one of the most widespread messaging platforms in the world. Owing to its favor, the developers seem to continuously work on adding new features and enhancing existing ones.

WhatsApp beta recently introduced a new feature that allows users to sort messages by date and hide their online status. A report by WABetaInfo indicates that the messaging platform might soon let users edit sent messages.

While it is still opaque how the feature might work, WhatsApp will probably add an ‘edited’ label to the message so the other user knows it has been edited.

Rumour also has it that users might be capable to edit sent messages for a specific time period. It looks like editing sent messages functionality is still in the testing phase. As part of the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.20.12 update, the edit message feature is unavailable to beta testers.

Interestingly, in May this year, WhatsApp worked on the same feature but abruptly dropped it without any reason. Unfortunately, there is no comment on when the feature will go live for the stable version of WhatsApp, so we might have to wait a while before it is officially announced.

Earlier this month, a report pointed out that WhatsApp might quit working on older iPhones as early as October and has begun alerting iOS 10 and iOS 11 users about the same.

All of these queries will be answered once the feature is official. We’ll have to pause for a word from WhatsApp, and until then, it’s most beneficial to take these facts with a grain of salt. We will let you know once WhatsApp reveals anything. So stay tuned.
