Whats New in Windows 10 May 2019 Update

This month, Windows 10 is releasing new update Windows 10 1903 with some of the new features you might be interested to have. Some of them are long waiting features finally coming to Windows 10 with its 1903 release. Windows 10 May addition will now allow Windows 10 Home users to pause the Windows 10 update for a set number of days. This is a good feature as this will allow you to ensure that the released update is working fine and you are good to install the update on your computer without impacting anything. And if there is an issue, you can pause the update till it gets fixed before installing the update.

Microsoft has now reserved disk space in Windows 10 May update for its updates. Microsoft thinks that it will help users getting stuck with updates failure because of running out of disk space during the update process. Many people will surely not like this feature as it will consume their 7GB of disk space. When you are using low disk space SSDs it’s very hard to leave 7GB of disk space.

In May update, Microsoft worked on the start menu to make it more useful. To keep it safe from any other issues in the operating system, this time Microsoft comes up with start menu’s own process called StartMenuExperienceHost.exe. This process will handle all of the start menu related operations. This will make the start menu work faster and smoother as we all know that the start menu is not just a start menu now.

CORTANA IS SEPARATE FROM SEARCH BAR

May 2019 update, Cortana the personal assistant is no more integrated with the search box. As we all know that Cortana can now perform many tasks so keeping that in mind Microsoft put it out from the search bar. Now you will have its separate settings as well as separate group policies. Now search will do a straight forward search in Windows.

PASSWORDLESS LOGIN

Windows 10 now allow you to go passwordless. This means you don’t need to enter the password to login to your Windows 10. Windows 10 will directly SMS you the PIN on your registered mobile number. Once its setup with Windows Hello, you don’t need to enter the password anymore.
