How to Stop Your Windows PC from Sleeping Temporarily

An option like putting your PC to sleep or hibernation mode is used to conserve laptop battery. So the way of sleep kicks in when no work is being done at the computer or no command is pressed for a long time. It is best to conserve power. But sometimes you don’t want to put your computer on sleep like you are installing a considerable software or downloading files. Which take hours to complete in such cases, the sleep mode can ruin all your work. So here are the steps to stop your computer from going into sleep mode.

Click on the Windows Start icon on the bottom left of the screen and search for the Settings, open the results.

Now click on the System.

Next move to the “Power and sleep” option in the System’s menu on the left side. And on the right side, under the Sleep’s section, set both to never the “on battery power” & “When plugged in”.

That’s all. Your PC will now be in an active mode as long as you disable these settings. You can also use these settings for your computer.
