If you are running Microsoft Windows 10 you might have received an update from Microsoft in April. This update includes many new features as well as many bug fixes from the previous version. Microsoft always tries to ensure that the update process is smooth and users are enjoying their new updates and features but in the last two updates it didn’t work the way Microsoft thinks.

With recent update in (April 2019, KB5593509) users started reporting slowness in computer performance like the windows takes a lot of time to start, programs take a lot of time to respond, games started freezing and continuous hard drive activity which led to performance related issues with overall computer systems. Users using SSD drives also facing this issue and it’s becoming worse for the users using old drives.

As of now, Microsoft has reported that users using Avira antivirus are facing slowness after the recent update but now it’s wide-spreading that many of the users are facing slowness even though they are not using Avira antivirus.

As of now, there is no response from Microsoft regarding this. AIIT Solutions IT teams suggest uninstalling the recent April update KB 5593509 from your computer. To un-install, the update, follow the following steps.

In Windows 10, go to settings and then click on Update & Security.

Click on View update history under Windows Updates.

Under view update history, you will see the list of installed updates. On top, click on Uninstall Updates.

In the list of installed updates, click on Security update from Microsoft KB4493509 to select it.

Now click on Uninstall button on the top to uninstall the update.

Once done, you will be prompted to restart your computer.

After the restart, you will see a better computer performance and your computer will start working normally as it was before the update.

Recommendations

It is highly recommended that these issues should be reported to Microsoft using Microsoft Feedback Hub. To access Feedback up, click on the start menu and start typing Feedback Hub. Click to open it and fill in the required details.

As of now, do not install this update on enterprise computer systems as it can lead to many issues for the end users.
