TikTok, a ByteDance-owned app, has initiated a test to present new features, including a horizontal full-screen mode for videos to stream on users’ mobile phones.
Users determined to be part of the test phase will notice a button on square or rectangular videos in their feed. Which will boost the video to full-screen mode.
TikTok is a famous platform with short vertical videos. That compels creators to add a “turn your phone” message at the commencement of the videos filmed in landscape mode. The feature, if launched, would lean creators to film more videos in landscape mode, Tech Crunch noted.
The company is taking significant steps to grab audiences and instantly compete with YouTube. Just this year, TikTok raised its maximum video length to ten minutes. On the other side, YouTube is doing its finest to rival TikTok with its Shorts and allow creators to earn revenue with them.
However, it is still determined how TikTok users will accept the feature. Mainly since the special vertical video scroll was the logic behind the platform’s popularity. Which other social media companies have replicated.
