The language of your keyboard layout controls the characters that appear on your screen when you type. By using the different layouts, you can type all the characters for the languages. In this tutorial, I will show you how you can add or delete the keyboard layouts for your account in Windows 10.
Delete a keyboard layout on Windows 10
Sometimes, Windows 10 adds a new keyboard layout when you add a new language to your machine. It is very easy to change the layout without meaning to. To remove the layout follow the below steps.
Open the Start menu, and click on the Setting app.
Go to the Time and languages tab.
Select the Languages tab and scroll down to the languages that you have added.
Click on the language that you want to remove the keyboard for, and click option.
Select the keyboard layout and click on the remove.
Remove keyboard layout from Registry
Removing a layout from the registry isn’t very intuitive but it is possible. If you have several different layouts added, it will be up to you to identify the one you want to remove.
Type the Run app in the Start menu and press the enter button.
In the run box, type regedit and press the OK button.
Then go to the following key.
HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Keyboard Layout\Preload
Right-click on the key, and select the delete option.
