Xiaomi Becomes the World’s Biggest Smartphone Brand, Dethrones Samsung

The Samsung brand has been facing a lot of difficulties from Xiaomi over the past couple of years. 3 years ago, the Xiaomi mobile brand defeated Samsung to become the number one smartphone brand in India. But now it is being reported by various researchers that the Chinese Smartphone Brand Xiaomi has defeated Samsung globally, and it becomes the world’s biggest smartphone maker for the first time ever in history. According to the counterpoint research, Samsung has been moved to the second position in global mobile rankings in June 2021. The shares of the Samsung smartphone market slipped to 15.7 %. While Xiaomi has been ranking in the number one position in June 2021 with a 17.1 % market share. While the Apple smartphone brand share also dropped out, and it gained 14.3% shares of the world smartphone market.

The Xiaomi market value increases 26% month-on-month compared to May 2021. And let us tell you that the smartphone brand is a young company that launched in 2011. Multiple times, the CEO of Xiaomi smartphone brand has said that he wanted to defeat Samsung and become the number one smartphone brand in the global environment. The research director at counterpoint Tarun Pathak said that ever since the decline of Huawei commenced. Xiaomi has been making aggressive and consistent efforts to reverse the gap created by the Huawei decline. In June 2021, China, Europe, India, and Samsung supply shortage has helped Xiaomi to achieve the number one position in the global market. However, it seems that Samsung can recover its position once it manages to solve the supply chain issues.

But there is a chance for Samsung as Samsung is working on new models such as Galaxy A52s, Galaxy S21FE, Galaxy Z Flip 3, and Galaxy Z Fold 3. Once these models are ready, Samsung can defeat Xiaomi and take back the number one position in the global market.
