For some security reasons, we apply BIOS password so that the initial configuration of the computer cannot be changed by and uses unintentionally. when we come into a situation where we forget the password it becomes very difficult to modify the BIOS configurations. the most common case where we need to modify the BIOS configuration settings is when we need to change the boot options. the old method was to unplug the battery from the laptop or your desktop computer and the system forgets the password and unlock the BIO. Now it’s different if you unplug the battery a small Lithium cell from the laptop or desktop computer it still remembers the password. In this article, I will explain how we can reset the BIOS password using BIOS-PW website
- Open https://bios-pw.org/
- When you open the website, it will ask you to enter the system number.
System number looks like the following and can be found from your computer’s BIOS Setups.
Example system number of Dell.
Enter the code and click on get password and you will see it will give you a master password.
Enter the master password provided from the website and press Control + EnterEnter ( press enter twice). this will remove password from your bios permanently and now you can reset the password if required.
