In the older versions of windows, you could easily remove password form user accounts to automatically login during start up. However, it’s no longer possible in Windows 10 because it has drastically improved its security with extra options such as fingerprint login, Face unlock, Pin, or security key. With all of these options available, you don’t need windows to automatically login to your computer. However, if for some reason you want to automatically login Windows 10 when you start up your PC to avoid the hassle of entering password or using other login methods. You can set up automatic login by following this method.
Automatically Login Windows 10
In the previous versions of Windows 10, you could have just opened “netplwiz” and added automatic login access to your profile but now you first have to perform an extra step before you can set up automatic login.
First, Click on Start menu or Search icon on the bottom left corner of your screen.
Type Sign-in Options and open the sign-in option settings.
Now scroll down to where it says Require Windows Hello Sign-in for Microsoft account and turn it off. This is important without this step you won’t be able to set up automatic login.
Now again click on the Start menu or Search icon and type Run and Open the run box.
Type “netplzwiz” in the Run box and click on OK.
Now select your account and untick the “Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer” option and click on Apply.
When you click on apply, a box will pop up that will ask you for your user name and password. Add your password in that box and press OK. Most of the time your user name will be automatically written in this box.
Note: Please add your account password not your pin in the password box. In my case, it’s my Hotmail account password. Which I used to log in to Windows during the initial set up.
Now restart your computer to automatically login Windows 10. If it doesn’t please check your account password or User name. However, If your username is not in the Automatically Sign-in box an easy way to find it out is to open CMD.
Open the run box and type CMD and click Ok to open Command prompt. You will be able to see your user name here.
