Sony Believes 2023 Will be a Significant Year for Playstation 5

Sony’s PlayStation 5 has now penetrated its third year of release. The fans now wait for the launch of Playstation 5 Pro.

In a discussion with a Japanese magazine, Famitsu, Hideaki Nishino, SIE Platform Experience SVP, discussed the strategies.

Nishino indicated the prospect of an update for the platform. He communicated that the year 2022 had been exceptionally well in cumulative sales. Hence, they look onward to maintaining the same swiftness in the coming year.

“By the end of fiscal 2022, cumulative sales will transcend 37 million units, and we acknowledge it will also be an influential time for the platform. I expect you will look forward to next year (2023),” he noted.

Regarding the upcoming Playstation 5, Insider gaming notes that it will have a console with a divisible disc drive connected to the PlayStation 5 utilizing an extra USB-C port on the back. Because this model is expected to replace all the older ones.

The current tales are surrounding the 2023 PS5 console share that it will feature a detachable disc drive as a “PS5 Pro” version. Mainly because Sony released the PlayStation 4 Pro three years after the PlayStation 4.
