Instagram has recently proceeded with various new features, including ‘Notes,’ which will offer tough competition to Twitter.
Notes are quick messages that only allow 60 characters, including text or emoji. The added note is just beside the user’s profile picture so followers can see it.
The message stays there for the next 24 hours, and you can edit it to a new one within 24 hours. The followers can respond instantly to that text by tapping on the profile picture in the DM menu.
As per Instagram, the reason behind presenting the new feature is the demand for a quick, spontaneous method of chatting among its users.
In its testing stage, the app understood its users, who were in demand of a straightforward method to share what was on their minds. Hence the new feature has been introduced.
Apart from notes, Instagram is designing new features, including Group Profiles. Where users can only communicate their posts or photos with a group of friends. It also works on the ‘Pass it on’ feature, letting users designate each other to continue a trend.
