Updates are a critical part of technologies. When you are not updating your technologies (includes hardware and software) the systems become vulnerable and risks the whole infrastructure. When it comes to Microsoft operating systems like Windows for end users or Windows Servers its very important that these are up to date to fight back with the latest threats. There are many ways you can update your copy of Windows but in this article, I will let you know how you can update your Windows manually.
Go to https://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com. This is the Microsoft update catalog web portal.
On the top right corner, search for your operating system or your hardware drivers. Some of the search strings are as
- Windows 10
- Windows Server 2012 R2
- Windows 10 1809
- Windows 10 1903
- Any specific KB number like KB2548455
Once you have searched for updates, you can sort the results by clicking the options at the 1st row. Sorting options are available in Title, Products, Classification, Last Updated date, Version and Size.
Click on the download button, it will open up a new window. Click on the link to download the update.
