Nowadays, SSDs are the most command hard drive used by many professionals. SSDs increase your machine performance by 90% and increases productivity. But some of you may be experiencing lag or random freezes. This issue can be fixed easily. Follow the following steps to fix the freezing issue.
You need to enable ACHI Link Power Management option in Windows 10 power settings. This option is hidden by default but can be enabled by command prompt or by using the registry editor.
Open the command prompt with Admin Permissions and run the following command.
powercfg -attributes SUB_DISK 0b2d69d7-a2a1-449c-9680-f91c70521c60 -ATTRIB_HIDE
To disable this option, run the command prompt with Admin Permissions and run the following command
powercfg -attributes SUB_DISK 0b2d69d7-a2a1-449c-9680-f91c70521c60 +ATTRIB_HIDE
Once done, you will get a new ACHI Link Power Management option in Windows 10 Power Settings. Make it active.
You can also enable this option using Windows 10 registry editor. Run registry editor as an administrator and drill to the following path.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power\PowerSettings\0012ee47-9041-4b5d-9b77-535fba8b1442\0b2d69d7-a2a1-449c-9680-f91c70521c60
Double click on Attributes and enter value 2. Make this Attributes value to 1 will disable this feature.
Once you have enabled this option, the next phase is to check if there any firmware update is available in for your SSD. For this purpose, you can download Kingston SSD Manager if you have Kingston SSD. You can download SK Hynix Drive Manager if you are using SK Hynix SSD. You can also download Samsung SSD Software if you are using Samsung SSD.
Once you will download your SSD drive software, you will get more insight regarding your SSD like the life of your SSD. Any read/write errors and warnings etc.
