With Google Docs’ editing features, you can edit your PDF to add or extract text, images, charts, and more. It then offers you the resulting File back as a PDF. This article will walk you through how to use this service for PDF editing.

When you upload a PDF to Google Docs, the service instantly transforms your File into an editable Doc file, where you can easily make your modifications. Once you’re done editing, you can download this Doc file as a PDF and get a customized version of your original PDF file.

Remember, though, that not all PDFs render well on Google Docs. You might have to find another way to edit your PDF works better.

Modify a PDF File on Google Docs

Open a web browser on your device and search Google Docs to begin the editing process. Get to your account if you haven’t already. On Google Docs’ home screen, in the top-right corner of the document list, click “Open File Picker” (which is a folder icon).

When the “Open a File” window appears, click the “Upload” tab at the top. Then, select “Select a File From Your Device in the same tab.”

You’ll see your computer’s standard “open” window. Here, please visit the folder where your PDF is saved, then double-click the File to upload it to Docs.

Once your PDF is uploaded, you’ll glimpse its preview. To make this File editable, click “Open With Google Docs” at the top of the Google Docs screen.

Docs will launch a new browser tab with your PDF’s editable version. In this tab, make whatever changes you like to your File. Feel free to add and extract text, images, charts, and more.

Once you finish editing the File, save the File back as a PDF.

Your computer’s standard “save as” screen will appear. Select the folder where you desire to save your PDF, then click “Save.”

That’s it. Your edited PDF file is now available in your preferred folder. Enjoy!
