Microsoft brought a native screen recorder to Windows 11, but now, it is under development, as witnessed in the Dev channel of Windows Insiders.

Microsoft also doesn’t like users using third-party software to record their screens. So after users’ numerous years of demand, Microsoft prepared to bring it into Snipping Tool.

Windows 11 Snipping Tool’s Screen Recording Feature

According to an official report from Microsoft, the most delinquent Windows version is getting a native screen recorder, as the company pledged for Windows 11. This new recording feature will come after an update to Snipping Tool.

All Windows OS users know that any version of Windows doesn’t retain a native screen recorder. That lets us record the screen, but now it appears that Windows 11 will modify this for future versions.

Snipping Tool is already well utilized to take screenshots, but after additional updates, it will also let you record the screen, as shown in the image below.

Press the shortcut key Windows + Shift + S to start recording instantly. Also, before starting the screen recording. It will be up to you to select which part of the screen you like to record.

Currently, this update’s arrival date is unknown. Still, we can expect it would come after some months. As Microsoft announced in October but rolled out for Windows Insiders in December.

Its update will instantly come in the Microsoft Store, which you can check out here, and also, you can download it if you haven’t.
