We all are aware that plastic bags are very dangerous to the environment. The plastic took 1000s of years to get decay and with the usage of plastic, it’s becoming very difficult for the earth to manage this waste. This is the reason we are seeing plastic garbages everywhere. This become an alarming situation for the world and many countries started taking decisions to stop its productions. A year back the Govt of Pakistan took the same decision to stop the production of Plastic bags. Things are now changing and we are seeing new shoppers in the market with a logo d2w printed on them.
What does the d2w logo mean?
This logo represents biodegradable plastic technology. The plastic produces with d2w chemical feels and looks like the same plastic bags. But there is something different in it. The d2w formula sets a timer decaying mechanism in the plastic bags and materials. The ratio is adjusted in a way that it start the decaying process after a preset time. For example, the plastic bag will work as a normal plastic bag but after 1 or 2 years it will automatically start decaying and ultimately decay in a way that it will fully get dissolved in the water or mixed with soil. How effective is this in Pakistan?
If this technology is adopted as the rest of the world soon this will start its working and will surely help improve the situation in Pakistan. But there are many other aspects that need to be taken care of. The plastic is not only used in shopping bags but with thousand of product’s packaging. Those manufacturers and especially international brands should be forced to follow the same practices so that this can expedite the process to make the environment clean and safe for the earth.
