Twitter users will be able to appeal account suspension. And be considered under the social media platform’s new standards for reinstatement starting Feb. 1, the company stated on Friday.

Under the new standards, which pursue billionaire Elon Musk’s acquisition of the company in October. Twitter accounts will only go into suspension for extreme or ongoing and repeat violations of the platform’s Terms and Conditions.

Strict policy violations include employing illegal content or activity, initiating or threatening violence or damage. And entertaining in targeted harassment of other Twitter users.

Twitter stated that from now on, it would take less extreme action compared to account suspension. Such as determining the reach of tweets that break its policies or requesting users to remove tweets before resuming to use of the account or Appeal Account Suspension.

Because in December, Musk came under blaze for suspending accounts of several journalists over a dispute over publishing public data about the billionaire’s plane. He later reinstated the accounts.
